He has held executive and sales management positions on more than 20 business-to-business print, event and digital products as Sales Manager, Sales Director and Marketing Research Director with United Feature Syndicate, Dun & Bradstreet, Ziff-Davis, Disney, Hanley Wood LLC, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and Society for Disaster Medicine and Public Health, plus others.

Ryan was lead salesperson and marketing executive for Public Works, the country’s largest B2B infrastructure magazine, as well as Marketing Director for a branch of Capital Cities/ABC (now Disney). He sold, marketed and negotiated agreements with:

  • Major pharmaceutical companies, such as Allergan, Pfizer, Genentech, Regeneron, Merck, Roche, and GSK;
  • Healthcare and healthcare related companies, such as Johnson & Johnson, 3M, Walgreens.
  • Vision and Vision Devices, such as Carl Zeiss, Topcon, Alcon, Heidelberg;
  • Infrastructure and Engineering companies such as Michael Baker, Parsons Brinckerhoff, CH2M Hill, Ingersoll Rand, ADS, BASF, American Water, Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, CEMEX;
  • Major Computer/IT/ Technology companies, such as IBM, Hewlett Packard, Apple, Microsoft, AutoDesk, General Dynamics;
  • Popular syndicated features, such as Peanuts, Garfield, Miss Manners, Jack Anderson, Julian Bond, Morton Kondracke;
  • Automotive companies, such as General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volvo;
  • Insurance companies, such as GEICO, New York Life, UNUM

At United Features, Ryan introduced and marketed new syndicated features to major newspapers, magazines and media resulting in record sales. At Disney and Hanley Wood, he increased revenue by 20 percent year over year and tripled total revenue for events, publications and digital products at ARVO. Ryan also consulted for numerous companies, to include Cancer Education and Research Institute, Health Innovators, Patient Packets and Society for Disaster Medicine and Public Health.
